Thanksgiving is a whole different situation. I have come to realise that I hate Thanksgiving for both its meaning and for what the day entails. First of all, Thanksgiving is a farce in my opinion and makes it seem like we had a honky-dory relationship with the native people, who we were actually raiding and murdering to access their food. Secondly, this holiday only goes to show how gluttony is praised in this country/society. Thirdly, I can't stand my family...at all. I have heard more racism and prejudice tonight than I think I have in all of my childhood (albeit nonexistent) combined, all as a result of Obama winning the presidency. I'm disgusted with my family, with this holiday, and with the prospect that the "Holiday Season" is only going to make things worse.

I'm really sorry. I just want you to know that even though it seems like a joke, I totally mean everything I say about your "intervention." I want to make at least some aspect of the holidays pleasant for you.
:-)
By the way, I honestly don't know what else to call it anymore but a "Holiday Intervention" :-(
i really like that quote.
and sorry to hear that you don't even enjoy being with your family, that stinks!! :(
however Christmas and Thanksgiving are my absolute favorite holidays. so i want to be part of this so-called "Holiday Intervention."
so you better be prepared to get into the Christmas spirit!! and we will bake cookies and sing songs and make a gingerbread house and do fun holiday things :) although i don't know when this will all be happening. :( trarcoo to you
This post still bothers me a little. I hope that you have reached some sort of "intervention" by now. I know that you may be going through a rough time with you family, but I expect to see more positive posts. Things are so much better than what you are making them. And I'm not being ignorant.
Sooooo
There better be a new post about something pleasant! : )
