Friend Appreciation Day

Today/Tonight has shown me, in contrast to yesterday's Thanksgiving post, that I truly do love my friends from home.  Today was practically awesome: I played the new version of Risk (I know, I'm a geek, leave me alone), I had ribs at Nick's, I had friends over, and we played an awesome game and had a good time while doing so.  It was a legitimately good day and my friends made it that way for me.  I really do appreciate them.

Sometimes I think it is important to step back and reflect, and I guess I haven't been doing that lately.  I get angry when I'm angry, and happy when I'm happy.  I am, gasp, actually beginning to look forward to Christmas and whatnot because I'm beginning to realise that spending time with my friends is/will be probably the best gift of all.

Here is one of the many quotations from a friend that has come within the past day to help me realise my faith in my friends:

"Watching the snow, I'm thinking about life as I usually do. Snow tends to bring that out in me when I give it the chance. Every flake, to me, is kind of like a bitty person. We're all in this huge gust of events, trying to make sense of our lives. Sometimes we succeed, sometimes we just think we succeed, and sometimes, we just end up having more questions about ourselves than when we began. But when the day is done, regardless, we all reach the same end. You know, THE end. So what's the purpose of it all? What is it that makes any of our lives, with all that confusion and pain, worth living? "

I'm glad that you've re-discovered your love for your friends...that's pretty epic. I'm also very happy that you're starting to look forward to Christmas. :)
